The Tattoo

I designed my tattoo
and it was inked by John Saletra in Venice, California.
The three bands that wrap around my right bicep include:
The trident is
Shiva's trident. Each point represents an aspect of God -
Sat, Tat and
Aum (Yogic Sanskrit terms) or Father, Son and Holy Ghost (Christian
terms).
The shark's teeth
on the bottom represent protection from worldliness. Polynesian
fisherman use tattoos of sharks teeth for protection from sharks
while fishing in shallow waters.
The top row of waves
represents the ocean of cosmic consciousness.
The upright and
inverted crosses represent duality or the yin and yang of Christianity.
The gold circle
with a blue background and a five-pointed white star represents the
spiritual eye which can be seen in deep meditation at the point between
the eyebrows.
"God, Christ, Gurus"
is a mantra to call on the highest conception of life or consciousness
for inspiration and Self-realization.
